In the world of WoW Classic SOD, there are different kinds of professions to choose. Some players are going to choose the profession to make money and raise reputation with factions in the game. Engineering Professions in WoW Classic SOD Phase 2

The Season of Discovery (SoD for short) is the second season in WoW Classic. WoW Classic: SoD is divided into several phases. Phase 2 will start on February 8, 2024.

 

In Phase 2 the maximum character level is 40. The level requirement for Artisan has been increased to level 41 (normally level 35) for all professions in SoD. This information can already be found in the Trainer menus for gathering professions in SoD.

 

This means that in Phase 2 the maximum Engineering skill level is 225 (Expert). In Phase 2 it will therefore not be possible to bring Engineering to the maximum skill level of 300.

Unlike other professions, Engineering is the only profession that improves your character's prowess in combat. Let's take a look at what you'll be able to make:

 

Explosives: Items like Goblin Sapper Charge and Dense Dynamite, and Thorium Grenade enhance your character's area of effect damage and provides an AoE stun.

 

Battle Pets: Raiders will want to get their hands on Arcanite Dragonling and Gnomish Battle Chicken to bring additional benefit to the raid group.

 

PVP Trinkets: Among the many devices tailored toward PVP you will find Hyper-Radiant Flame Reflector, Gyrofreeze Ice Reflector, and Ultra-Flash Shadow Reflector, these items allow you to reflect powerful spells back at the players who cast them.

 

Additional Teleports: While not exactly a Hearthstone, you can build either Dimensional Ripper - Everlook or Ultrasafe Transporter: Gadgetzan to give you another way to transport yourself quickly around an otherwise large world.

 

Gear: Items such as Force Reactive Disk provide unique and powerful effects that you won't be able to find from traditional sources of loot, this shield is used by tanks even in Naxxramas for AoE Threat.

 

Helpful Gadgets: Engineering also provides other devices that will help your guild out, you might be familiar with Field Repair Bot 74A which will allow you to repair your items without returning to town.

 

Engineering Leveling Guide

Leveling any profession comes down to using the profession, usually to craft items. Engineering is no different. You will want to craft items that are hard, which means they will be color coded as orange in your Engineering menu. If you cannot craft something orange, yellow is an acceptable alternative. Green recipes will very rarely level you up, while Grey recipes will never level you. There is not strictly one way to leveling Engineering, and the best choices for what items to make to level can vary depending on what materials you have available.

 

Best Classes with Engineering in WoW Classic Season of Discovery

Any class without substantial ranged or AoE abilities will benefit a lot from Engineering. In my experience, Warriors and Rogues benefit the most. Because both are melee classes, bombs give them more versatility and make them unpredictable in PvP. Nobody expects a Warrior to throw a bomb.

 

Whenever I play an Engineer in a dungeon and someone dies, I’m always quick to try and revive them with my Goblin Jumper Cables, which are especially useful if there isn’t a party member alive who can resurrect fallen allies. When it works, it’s hilarious to be revived by a Warrior or Rogue. When it doesn’t work, oh well—at least I tried. Oh, and don’t forget you get to build Gnomish Battle Chickens. They aren’t very useful, but come on, they’re battle chickens!
