What Does Destiny 2 Vex Mythoclast Catalyst Do: Vex Mythoclast Catalyst Oracle Farming Locations
Destiny 2's Vex Mythoclast is an Exotic which has made its return to Destiny 2, so how to get the legendary Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2? Here's how you can snag it and what it does.
What Does Vex Mythoclast Catalyst Do?
The Vex Mythoclast Catalyst imbues the weapon with a single benefit: Higher stacks of Overcharge increase stability. Added stability can be beneficial to those that adore the Vex Mythoclast for what it is. Thanks to its "one pull, one shot" nature, the one-of-a-kind Fusion Rifle would only grow more accurate with a stability upgrade. Ignoring this Catalyst should only be considered if you're the type of player that enjoys its alternate firing mode since it features a longer wind-up before firing. That said, it's still beneficial no matter what mode you're using.
How to get Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2
As with the original Destiny, the Vex Mythoclast is tied to the Vault of Glass raid - however unlike the original, doesn't require playing at a higher difficulty to unlock. The Vex Mythoclast in Destiny 2 has a chance of dropping after the final encounter in Vault of Glass. Specifically, once you have defeated Atheon, it's possible the Vex Mythoclast can be part of that encounter's loot pool. Either the regular version of the raid or Challenge Mode will do. Remember, as with any raid loot, nothing is guaranteed - and instead you have to rely on drop rates. The Vex Mythoclast drop rate is currently unknown, but expect it to be similar to Exotics which also dropped in the final encounters of a raid, such as Deep Stone Crypt's Eyes on Tomorrow. (In other words - quite low.)
How to Unlock the Vex Mythoclast Catalyst
With the Vex Mythoclast in hand, the next step is to acquire its Catalyst to unlock its true potential. Word of warning, this is where things get tough. You will need to return to the Vault of Glass and locate five plates, that must be triggered by shooting them with the Vex Mythoclast. They can be a little tricky to find, but once you know what you are looking for they stand out:
Off to the right side of where you spawn before entering the Vault.
·Located in the secret pathway immediately before the Templar fight.
·Just underneath the path on the way to the Templar fight.
·To the right of the jumping puzzle, on the way to the fight with Atheon.
·To the left of the jumping puzzle, on the way to the fight with Atheon.
You will need to defeat a group of Oracles after shooting each plate, and this part can be tough. The key is to defeat the Oracles in the order that they appeared in, just pay attention to them as they spawn in. Upon clearing the fifth set, the Catalyst will be yours. Congratulations!
