On Monday, 2K Games officially announced NBA 2K20 and revealed first details regarding the newest installment in the long-running and popular basketball sim. For your information, here’s the latest on who the NBA 2K20 cover athletes will be, how to pre-order, and when the game becomes available to start playing.
 
NBA 2K20 Release Date
 
NBA 2K20 launches for PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch on September 6. The game will also be a launch title for Google Stadia in November.but the service will initially only be available to those who purchase the Founder's Edition.

 
NBA 2K20 Cover Athlete
 
NBA 2K20 confirmed that that Anthony Davis will grace the cover of the game's standard and Deluxe editions, while three-time NBA champ Dwyane Wade will be featured on the Legend edition.
 
This will be Davis' second time serving as the NBA 2K cover athlete. He was featured on NBA 2K16 when him, Steph Curry and James Harden had their own covers. But NBA 2K20 will feature a series newcomer on its Legend Edition box: former Miami Heat star Dwyane Wade, who did not appear on the cover of an NBA 2K game during his illustrious 16-year career. (He did grace the cover of EA Sports’ NBA Live 06.) Wade retired at the end of the 2018-19 season, calling it quits at age 37.

2K has also revealed the game's first ever teaser trailer, revealed the two cover stars, and has confirmed that the WNBA will be in the game in some capacity. Here’s the trailer:
 

 

In addition to NBA superstars like Kawhi Leonard, Kevin Durant, and LeBron James, the trailer includes gameplay footage of A’ja Wilson of the WNBA’s Las Vegas Aces, which would make this the first NBA 2K game to feature WNBA players.So far, it's unclear how much the WNBA will be supported in the game. In other words, it's not obvious if it's a back-burner type of a thing or a robust new addition.
