Some Changes in Halo Infinite’s August Update

Visor and helmet customization

A pretty common complaint with Halo Infinite multiplayer since its release has been the lack of customization options. The August 9 patch will offer more choices when it comes to creating Spartans, as players will be able to equip any visor they have unlocked to any helmet.

 

Prior to this update, each visor was locked to a specific armor core, meaning players often had to decide between the visor they had just unlocked and their favorite style of armor. Add More Ranked Playlists including Doubles

343 Industries is adding more ranked playlists shortly after implementing the changes detailed above. The developers state that Ranked Doubles will launch two weeks after the Drop Pod update releases and is accompanied by a Social variant and a Competitive Skill Rank reset. 343 will monitor the health of Ranked Doubles in the coming weeks, and if the playlists find traction, it will experiment with adding new Ranked game modes to Halo Infinite. Microsoft’s flagship first-person shooter still has lots of ground to cover before it fulfills all its promises; however, Halo Infinite’s August Drop Pod appears to be making steps in the right direction.

 

Easy to Check the Challenges on the Menu

343 will also be changing up the look of the pause menu so that players can quickly check what active challenges they have during games. This design change comes directly from fan requests and is something that the devs were “very happy to get implemented.”

 

For the moment, the challenges will not specify how far off players are from achieving a challenge in terms of numbers remaining or total required to complete the challenge. However, 343 has promised they will be adding in these extra details later.

 

Players want to see the Forge Mode in the later update of Halo Infinite

Another glaring missing feature is the lack of a Forge mode, yet another staple of the Halo franchise that's been around since Halo 3. The ability to create custom maps and game modes has been one of the most integral aspects of the casual Halo multiplayer scene for years. Game modes like Duck Hunt and Slide are seared into the memories of countless Halo players, and only served to add to the games' longevity. Forge mode has been sorely missed, and again, although 343 Industries is supposedly hard at work on bringing the mode to Halo Infinite, there's been no official word on its release for quite some time.
