Where to Find A Specialist in Fortnite

Specialists are non-player characters (NPCs) included in patch v24.10, better known as the Spring Breakout 2023 update. Remedy: At a small castle in between the large gas station and Slappy Shores

Triage Trooper: On a snowy tip of the island southeast of Lonely Labs

 

How to give the hired Specialist a command in Fortnite

Once you've hired an NPC, the Command button will show up. It is located in the top-right corner of the screen. This button varies by device. For a PC, it's the middle mouse button; however, it will be different for Xbox, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, and others. Be sure to press and hold down on the button displayed on your screen for the requisite amount of time.

 

There are four different commands that you can give to a Specialist. You can have them to follow you, go to a marked point on the map, wait where they are, and even revive a teammate that's downed.

 

Wait - Specialist will stay in their current position

Move - Specialist will immediately run to the targeted position

Follow - Specialist will follow you (default behaviour)

Revive - Specialist will revive a downed teammate (where available)

 

Pick any of those for the first time, and you'll complete the 'Give a hired Specialist Character a command' quest. Of that selection, Move is usually the most useful Fortnite command to give, as you can use it to send your Specialist to scout ahead – opponents they encounter are likely to open fire if they spot them, revealing their position and distracting them while you move in for a sneak attack to catch them unawares.
