FF14 PS5 Open Beta Begins, bringing 3 graphics modes: 4K, 1440p, and 1080p to Final Fantasy XIV

The PS5 version supports three graphics resolutions: 4K (2160p) / WQHD (1440p) / FullHD (1080p). Project manager Matsuzawa said: Because there are various contents in "FFXIV", it is impossible to generalize. Normally, WQHD (1440p)/FullHD (1080p) is about 60fps, and 4k (2160p) is also about 40fps. Compared with the PS4 version, it has been greatly improved.
That also includes speedy load times, a native 4K resolution at 60 frames-per-second, 3D audio, and support for Haptic Feedback in the DualSense controller.
Once you're in the beta, you'll have your pick of three rendering resolutions: 4K, 1440p, and 1080p, all of which will be scaled to match your TV's actual output. On top of affecting image quality, your choice will impact the frame rates you can expect to see in a variety of situations.
"I wouldn't want to make sweeping generalizations since there are so many different types of content in FF14, but in general, WQHD (1440p) and Full HD (1080p) should run at around 60 FPS during normal gameplay, and even in 4K (2160p) you should see frame rates around 40 FPS - significantly higher than the PS4 version," Matsuzawa wrote.
A crisp and clean UI
In addition to new resolution options, we’ve also updated the in-game menus and UI so your inventory, Armoury chest, and action bars look stunning as well! Matsuzawa: “Final Fantasy XIV’s UI was originally intended for a 720p display, so we worked to up-res those original images for the PS5 version. Naturally, going through each and every item, equipment, and ability icon by hand would have been impossible to achieve in a short amount of time, so we incorporated a few tricks to find ways to be efficient; for example, we utilized AI tools to boost the resolution and tweaked any parts of the icons that needed it by hand. Aside from the UI elements, things like the font has a higher resolution now as well, so overall these elements will look a lot smoother.”
91 trophies on PS5
According to the list of trophies collected by exphase and TrueTrophies, the game will have 91 trophies on PS5. The base game will provide you with 53 trophies (if you can complete all tasks, you will be able to get a platinum trophy), and 3 DLC packs will provide you with 38 trophies.
