Backpacks are new functional items being introduced in Fallout 76, which can be used to increase your carry weight. Do you want to figure out how to obtain backpacks and what can they do? Follow this short article, you will find the answer.
What does backpack do?
Backpacks are an in-game item coming to the online open-world multiplayer game with the Ever Upwards update, which is currently set to launch alongside patch nine on 7th May. They do exactly what you'd imagine: increase your carry weight. This is hugely important for Fallout 76, which is a game mostly about walking around and picking things up.
HOW DO I INCREASE THE SIZE OF MY BACKPACK?
Craft higher-level Backpacks to receive larger carry weight bonuses.
Standard Backpacks increase your carry weight by multiples of 10, while the Standard Small Backpack increases your carry weight by multiples of 5.
The Standard Backpack increases are as follows:
·Level 1: +10 Carry Weight
·Level 10: +20 Carry Weight
·Level 20: +30 Carry Weight
·Level 30: +40 Carry Weight
·Level 40: +50 Carry Weight
·Level 50: +60 Carry Weight
Higher capacity backpacks can be purchased from the Possum vending machine and can be purchased with Possum Tokens.
How to get backpack?
Daily quests
These quests are pretty much straight forward. One in Toxic Valley requires you to pick thing up close by and put them into barrel.
The one in Mire is bit more difficult as it requires you to kill insects and gather their body parts, but because other players might be also doing them, there might not be enough insects and you have to wait or change server.
PS: When doing insects body parts collecting daily, don't scarp junk. Otherwise you are going to scrape quest items.
Challenges
This is the part that confused player. Quest says you need to collect badges, but doesn't tell you how to get them. To earn badges you have to complete challenges. They added new challenges that reward you badges instead of Atom. Go to your challenges menu and look under world. There you should find 10 new tadpole challenges. Easiest challenges are said to be: Athlete, Archer and Swimmer. Because Swimmer requires you to revive player in water, I did Hunter instead.
Once you’ve completed the 3 world challenges you need, head to any of the scout leaders you’ve encountered along your journey to receive your reward of Possum rank! …Oh, and your first backpack too! The most valuable aspect of backpacks in Fallout 76, as you might’ve expected, is the increase in carry weight that they provide. The level 1 backpack you first receive will add 10, scaling up to the level 50 sack which will add 60 extra carry weight points.
