You get Living Steel in Diablo 4 from Tortured Gifts of Living Steel chests. When the Helltide event occurs, chests like the Tortured Gifts of Living Steel will spawn randomly around the map. However, rather than running around the map hoping to stumble across the right chest, you can use D4Armory to find out where specific ones, such as the Living Steel chests, spawn.

 

When the Helltide is happening, the area affected will turn red on the map. If you kill any enemies in this event area, you will get Aberrant Cinders. This is a type of currency that you use to unlock chests you find during Helltide. To unlock the Tortured Gifts of Living Steel chests, you will need 300 Aberrant Cinders.

 

How to Use Living Steel in Diablo 4 Season 2

As previously noted, Living Steel is used to spawn Grigoire, The Galvanic Saint, and that can occur within the Hall of the Penitent, a special Lair in Diablo 4's Dry Steppes that appears in World Tier 3 and 4. While this Lair is quite easy to locate, as it it marked on the in-game map at all zoom levels, the following map will be useful to players that may be having some trouble finding it.

 

To note, while players are certainly free to summon and fight Grigoire in World Tier 3, it is recommended that they hold onto their Living Steel until they reach World Tier 4. This recommendation is due to the fact that the boss can only drop Shards of Agony on that higher World Tier, and fans will need that material to spawn the Echo of Duriel. For full clarity, Duriel is the only boss introduced in the Season fo Blood that can drop Diablo 4's Uber Unique items, making him a very important part of the endgame.

 

How to beat Grigoire the Galvanic Saint in Diablo 4

Grigoire the Galvanic Saint can be fought on World Tier Nightmare or World Tier Torment. This boss is no small task, but he can be beaten. He specifically uses Lightning elemental tasks, so it’s best to stock up on Elixirs and socket Topaz to gear to build up your resistance.

 

I’ve found it most effective to keep your distance from this boss. His most common attack is to swing at you with his melee weapon, but this is easily avoided if you are far away from him. Make sure to stay behind him for this, as lightning orbs will appear and bounce around. He’s also going to have chains of lightning that pop up in the arena. Look for the red mark on the floor that will appear before the lightning, and you can easily avoid these too.

 

Luckily, a lot of Grigoire’s attacks are able to be avoided entirely. I’ve found that as long as you keep an eye out for the warning signs, and keep your distance from him, he’ll go down.
