The Discovery era versions of the Enterprise and D7 are coming June 20 th. Fortunately, players can get a first peek at what’s happening in the Enterprise and D7, thanks to filmmaker extraordinaire ZEFilms, who was kind enough to make us this amazing trailer showing off the new ships and and what they can do. Check it out.
Not only are these screen accurate versions of the ships, based on the 3D models used on Discovery and lovingly created by ship artist Donny Versiga, but they are the first ships to use Fighter Squadron pets, meaning the Discovery can have around 95 pets out at any given time.
Players finally get to see the D7 properly. Eaglemoss has produced two versions of the Conni now and renders of it have been everywhere since it was shown, and concept art and official renders weren't far behind. The D7 has nothing except screenshots and thanks to the cinematography now players can't see enough of it from them.

In fact, as long as they balance the things properly, having 9 in a hangar (rather than the usual 6) won't be an issue.
Hangar pets in general need a balance pass to unify the classes a bit better. There is no goddamned reason why a BASIC Kelvin Drone should be better than damn near every other Elite Fighter-Type, and why old pets (mostly those that pre-date T6) launch considerably slower, and are also considerably weaker (even going so far as having “Micro Torpedoes”) than other pets of their class.

Fighters should be the most powerful per bay, have quick cooldowns, but also be the most fragile (meaning they need to be relaunched often). Say on average around 17000 DPS a bay.
Shuttles should be weaker than fighters per bay, launch at the same rate, but survive longer in battle. Say on average around 10000 DPS a bay.
Runabouts/Heavy-Fighters should be weaker than fighters per bay, BUT have a similar if not slightly superior per-ship firepower, a middling launch time, and good survivability. Say on average around 12000 DPS a bay.
Frigates should be slightly weaker than Fighters per bay, BUT have considerably stronger per-ship firepower, a slow launch time, and unrivalled survivability. Say on average around 15000 DPS a bay.
The new “Fighter Squadron” type should be a little more powerful per bay than the standard Fighters, launch at the same speed, but also be even more fragile to make up for having 9 of them rather than 6. Say on average around 18000 DPS a bay.
(Note, suggested DPS readings are based on an average ISA run, but can be used as a comparative). Pets would also need their combat AI tweaking based on their class so that slower Pets with cannons or other front-heavy attacks aren't completely useless because the AI decides to orbit.
