Pearl Abyss has announced announced that
Black Desert will finally be available for PlayStation 4 on August 22. Starting today,
PS4 players can pre-order Black Desert to prepare for the big day. Preordering Black Desert will allow you to play it 48 hours early. In addition, preordering Black Desert will also gift you with some exclusive in-game items.
“Our team has been working diligently to make ‘Black Desert’ the best that it can be, and we’re finally ready to reward our patient player base,” said Kwangsam Kim, the game’s lead producer. “If you’ve been looking for a open-world action MMORPG on the PS4 with deep personalization to fit your gameplay experience, we encourage you to pre-order this July.”
Black Desert is a revolutionary sandbox MMORPG featuring a player-driven economy, intense real-time combat, and a seamless open world. It first launched in South Korea back in 2015, and it has only grown since then. Originally exclusive to PCs, and then Xbox One earlier this year, the company announced the game's migration to PlayStation 4 during E3 2019.Now, PlayStation 4 owners will finally enter this world for themselves.
The PlayStation 4 version lacks a few content updates as opposed to the PC version, but the studio will slowly be adding them down the road after its launch. There are currently no plans for cross-platform play support at this time.
Featuring “the most developed character customization system of any game” according to Pearl Abyss, Black Desert will send all player-created heroes into its vast (and dangerous) open world. Featuring a real-time, combo-based combat system, players will have to rely on their skills to survive. While combat in itself is important, players will be able to do much more than that, however. Players will be able to take up fishing, crafting, trading, and so much more! These “life skills” will reward players in many different ways, so it’s definitely worth trying out some new paths in life.
You can pre-order the game right now. There are three packages available ($29.99, $49.99 and $99.99), each with its own set of in-game items and two with two days of early access ahead of launch. The base game can be pre-purchased for £29.99/$29.99, which still includes a handful of bonuses such as a pet and 1000 pearls, while a deluxe edition can be picked up at £49.99/$49.99. This bundles in two days worth of early access to the game, a tier 3 horse, 2000 pearls, and a 60-day value pack, among other digital bonuses. If you're feeling particularly adventurous, however, you could opt for the £99.99/$99.99 ultimate edition. There are too many perks included in this version to list, so maybe it's worth checking out this edition on your PS4 for yourself. You do get a Horse Flute, though.
Alongside the PS4 release, Pearl Abyss has announced that its mobile game, Black Desert Mobile, will be launching globally on iOS and Android later this year.
