What is the best melee Armour in RuneScape? Melee armour, used in the Attack, Strength and Defence skills, is generally made out of some kind of metal. The new players specifically will be having a hard time to decide whether to buy this Melee Armor or that Melee Armor and which one is better. So, we list the best Melee Armor in Osrs for you!
Rune Scimitar
Is it any surprise that this weapon is our top pick? The Rune Scimitar is just the all around go to piece of gear in F2P, and is useful in almost every scenario, from training and PvP to just looking cool. It has the most DPS of any melee weapon in F2P, doesn’t require any quests to equip, and destroys everything in its path.

Dragon armour
Dragon armour is one of the most sought-after armour sets and pieces of dragon equipment can cost millions of coins. Dragon equipment is only available for members and cannot be smithed. The weaponry may be received as a rare drop from a very limited amount of monsters or bought from several shops (often requiring quests to be completed), while the armour is limited to the former. For example, the elusive, fabled Dragon full helm can be dropped by level-304 Mithril dragons. The origins of dragon armour are unknown, but it is widely believed the Dragonkin created it and brought dragon metal to Gielinor. Dragon armour requires level 60 Defence to be worn and is very popular.
Obsidian armour
Obsidian armour is melee armour, which can be purchased from TzHaar-Hur-Zal's Equipment Store in the inner area of Mor Ul Rek or TzHaar-Hur-Tel's Equipment Store in the outer area of the city; however, TzHaar-Hur-Tel only sells the cape and shield. Alternatively, players can obtain this armour from killing TzHaar-Kets that reside in the city. The helmet, platebody and platelegs are uncommon due to the fact that only the level 221 TzHaar-Ket, which require the completion of the Fight Caves activity to access, drop them. Equipping the armour requires 60 Defence; however, the cape does not have any Defence requirement. When the platebody, platelegs, and helmet are equipped together, all obsidian weaponry will be given a 10% boost in melee accuracy and melee strength. The helmet, platelegs and platebody can be stored in the player owned house Armour case. The cape can be stored in the Cape rack.
Granite armour
Granite equipment is a set of equipment made from granite. Unlike most armours, which have boots and gloves or gauntlets, there are only four pieces of granite armour. They are members only items. The shield is dropped by various trolls; the granite legs are dropped by Skeletal Wyverns; the body is available from the Barbarian assault minigame, and one may kill terror dogs to find a granite helmet. Two weapons are associated with the set, the granite maul and the granite mace. The granite maul is dropped by gargoyles while the granite mace is dropped by statues in the Bandos Throne Room (completion of the quest "The Chosen Commander" is required to kill these statues but the mace does not have any quest requirements to wield). Any piece of granite equipment may be bought at the Grand Exchange or from another player. As most pieces of the granite set are only dropped by monsters which require medium-high Slayer levels to kill and are fairly rare drops, many players choose to simply buy the set rather than attempting to obtain the items as drops. To wear pieces of granite armour, 55 Defence and 55 Strength are required; 55 Attack and 55 Strength are needed to wield the granite weapons. Granite armour and weapons are also notable for being much heavier than other pieces of equipment (Granite platelegs have a mass of 15 kg, compared to rune platelegs which have a mass of 9 kg).
