Apex Legends Season 14 Release Time
Apex Legends’ new Hunted update is nearly here, and it brings with it a big map change, the usual balance updates, and a new playable Legend character. The update will begin the game’s 14th season, and will launch Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 10 a.m. PDT/1 p.m. EDT.
New Legend in Apex Legends Season 14 Hunted
After the release of Newcastle in the previous season, there is a new Legend called Vantage joining the roster.
Enter Vantage, a new sniper, joining the roster with an ultimate which is a little different than other Legends'. It's called Sniper's Mark, and is a sniper rifle, which can be used at any time without needing a full charge, provided it has ammo in it. Each hit does 50 damage, but then marks the enemy with a red glowing effect. Subsequent hits from Vantage's sniper will deal 100 damage, and teammates will get bonus damage for hitting the marked enemy as well.
Vantage has movement abilities as well as long range sniper abilities so she is going to be an absolute menace with players who excel with snipers. She’s able to stay at distance and deal good amounts of damage while also being able to provide recon support for her team, but she can also get herself out of some sticky situations with Echo or push with her team using her movement abilities. It’ll be interesting to see how Vantage plays in ranked and competitive.
Map Changes in Apex Legends Season 14
For the Hunted season, the reforged Kings Canyon is looking a lot different. It’s bigger, many chokepoints have been widened, the iconic Skulltown section is back as a new area dubbed “Relic,” and there are other map changes intended to help fights proceed more quickly instead of the extended engagements that usually drew a third-party’s attention before one team could defeat another. The loot on the map is now positioned differently, and a new skybox is supposed to make things brighter compared to its original dinginess that could wear on you after a while.
New Battle Pass in Apex Legends Season 14
As per usual, there will be plenty of character and weapon skins along with new holosprays, a huge amount of survival themed cosmetics, and a shiny new reactive skin that will unlock upon the completion of the battle pass.
The new battle pass showcases the new Wraith "Veteran Voyager" skin as well as giving fans a look at the "Lucky Draw" Wingman skin with both displaying similar styles. Following the Wraith and Wingman combo, fans of toxic trapper Caustic will be pleased to see that the mad scientist is getting a skin with the newest battle pass. Aside from the Wraith and Caustic skins, fans get a look at the upcoming reactive skin coming to the Triple Take in Season 14 that will unlock upon completion of the battle pass.
