Last Thursday, 2K Sports released a 15-second video involving NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo to promote MyTEAM Mode, which indicates the release of a new batch of 20th Anniversary Packs in the game. These packs will feature a number of players from past and present making their way into the game. On Friday (Dec. 7) via NBA 2K’s Twitter account, the game developer also released a longer video featuring the NBA 2K19 cover athlete “Greek Freak.” So Giannis Antetokunmopos is now a part of the new 20th Anniversary Pack in the game. It’s quite a card too, as he’s got a 97 in there.

Joining Antetokounmpo are several other notable players. The Memphis Grizzlies’ Marc Gasol is also represented with a 95 Diamond card in the game. Former NBA stars Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway and Hedo Turkoglu also receive special cards. Turkoglu is shown off in the video with a 92 Amethyst Card, while Penny Hardaway has a Ruby Card.
 
Paul George also got himself a special Diamond Moments card in NBA 2K19 after he scorches Brooklyn for a game-high 47 points and hit a game-winning three-pointer to cap off an amazing night. Gamers can pick up this special 95-rated PG13 card up until 11 a.m on last Sunday. The PG Diamond Moments card is in the Heat Check or League Packs only. Paul George joins fellow NBA stars Derrick Rose and Klay Thompson in terms of players receiving such cards in the game. NBA 2K 19 Card system features a bunch of cards with different tiers and colors. The higher the card color in the ranking, the better they are, but also how much harder they are to acquire. Here are the rarities for your collection.
 
There are totally three tiers in the system including the gold tier, above the average tier and finally the Budget Player Tier. Of course, gold tiers are considered the top of the top, with overall scores ranging between 90-99. Among the gold tier cards, they are divided into different colors. These colors indicate different tiers of players, and how strong they are. The Above Average cards have three tiers which tend to have decent players to use as the glue to hold teams together. This tier features players with a 80-89 overall rating. The tier can be divided into Ruby (87-89 Ratings), Sapphire (84-86 Ratings) and Emerald (80-83 Ratings).
 
Last , it’s the Budget Player Tier, the bottom of the pack. These cards don’t hold any true purpose unless you are just starting out, as their overall ratings tend to only be in the 79 and below.
